In an interview with the Daily Telegraph, Miley Cyrus said that after she watches herself on the big screen in ‘The Last Song’, she will probably be hiring an acting coach.

On her acting talent: ‘I’ve not taken like acting lessons or anything but it doesn’t mean I don’t need to because I’m sure I do. Once I watch this film in the theatre I’m probably going to go book an acting coach.. I’m kind of bipolar in my acting choices because I just want to do a little bit of everything.

One day I’m telling my mom, you know, I want to do an action movie and then I want to be doing comedy and then all different types of things. I get a little bored so hopefully I’ll get a chance to do a little bit of everything.’

If you are wanting to make it big, make sure you do everything in your power to strengthen your skill! That might mean taking acting lessons.

At least Kevin and Joe got to bring their favorite ladies along! Nick showed up solo.

“It is pretty gnarly,” Cyrus told Reuters. “It is about a daughter who is involved with all the wrong kids, doing drugs, failing school, but the mother has her on this perfect pedestal. I just fell in love with the story.”

Hannah Montana season 4 is set to air on Disney Channel in July and episodes will be shown throughout the summer. Miley is definitely ready to step away from that role and show people what she can do.

“I had been wanting to get out of what people think as the obvious choice for me to do next. You have no idea how many musicals came to my door,” Cyrus said.

“It was so freeing to not be, like ‘Alright, I’m happy!’ and getting to be real and working with life’s real emotions. People are so used to me playing the happy girl,” she said.

Miley continued, “A new chapter is beginning and one that has been my life for the past five years is ending. It is interesting to be leaving my security blanket behind, but also it is exciting for me to get involved in this movie career”.

Jason Dolley

A familiar face to Disney Channel viewers, Dolley starred in three Disney Channel Original Movies, “Hatching Pete,” “Minutemen” and “Read It and Weep,” and in the Disney Channel comedy series “Cory in the House.”

He started acting professionally at age 11. His film debut was the lead role in the award-winning short film “Chasing Daylight,” directed by Jeff Stephenson. However his big break came in 2004, when he landed a series regular role in Mel Gibson’s ABC comedy series, “Complete Savages,” as T.J. Savage, the youngest of the five brothers.

During the 2006-07 pilot season, Dolley was cast in the ABC drama pilot “Enemies,” during which he worked with famed director F. Gary Gray (“Be Cool,” “The Italian Job”). In 2007 he had a supporting role in the crime-drama feature film, “The Air I Breathe,” starring Andy Garcia, Kevin Bacon, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Forest Whitaker, Brendan Fraser and Emile Hirsch. In 2006 he also starred in the lead role of Marty Preston in the Warner Bros. feature “Saving Shiloh.”

Born in Southern California, Dolley is the youngest of four boys. An excellent student, he maintained a consistent 4.0 grade point average throughout high school. Now a college student, he enjoys playing his guitar and piano, video games and spending time with his friends.

Dolley resides in Los Angeles with his family.

The Austin Family & Parenting Examiner spoke with Disney Channel officials and received some good inside tips that should help you out a little more with the audition. If you’ll remember, an open casting call is how Disney Channel found both Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato. Disney sent out the call, the girls came and gave it their best shot and the rest is history.

What was it about those two that Disney liked? According to the Examiner’s inside tips: “Big personalities are key. Script reading only, but interesting candidates have been asked to break out into song or dance in the past.”

Bridgit Mendler

Mendler has a recurring role as Justin Russo’s vampire girlfriend, Juliet Van Heusen, on Disney Channel’s Emmy Award-winning series, “Wizards of Waverly Place.” Her other credits include a guest-starring role on the hit series “JONAS,” where she sang opposite Nick Jonas, and the upcoming 20th Century Fox sequel “Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel.”

Within a few weeks of deciding to pursue acting, Mendler landed a guest-starring role on ABC’s long-running daytime drama, “General Hospital,” and later had roles in “Alice Upside Down,” “The Clique” and ABC Family’s “Labor Pains.”

Mendler first caught the acting bug at age 8 while attending local acting camps in the San Francisco Bay area. Her early experience led to local roles in both dramatic and musical theatre, and she eventually became the youngest performer in the San Francisco Fringe Festival. Soon she was dabbling in voice acting, which led to roles in the animated feature film “The Legend of Buddha” and the video game based on the comic book series “Bone.”

Born December 18, 1992 in Washington, DC, Mendler is currently enrolled in an online high school through The Education Program for Gifted Youth at Stanford University and in her spare time enjoys dancing and songwriting.

‘Good Luck Charlie’

To star us off, here’s some information about the show and the premiere episode ‘Study Date’.

The family sitcom “Good Luck Charlie” follows the comedic quandary of teenagers Teddy and PJ Duncan and their 10-year-old brother, Gabe, when they’re unexpectedly designated babysitters for the new baby in the house as their mom, Amy, returns to work as a late shift nurse and their dad, Bob, carries on with his pest-control business. Now the whole family is involved in raising the baby, and it’s up to the older kids to come home after school and take charge of young Charlotte (AKA Charlie), all while navigating typical teenage life.

Even the teenagers know that the adorable little bundle of burdens is quite a beautiful addition to the family, but with burp cloths in their backpacks and formula stains on their favorite clothes, the Duncan kids have a lot to learn about the comedic chaos this baby can unwittingly create, especially when she’s mobile, can grasp objects and be generally destructive. Meanwhile “new” again parents Amy and Bob quickly re-learn everything from existing on two hours of sleep to changing diapers and dodging spit up.

Hard-driving Teddy is determined to juggle her responsibilities to her family with her grades, texting and cell phone chats with friends, all while creating daily video diaries for Charlie to use for advice after Teddy has grown up and moved out. In addition to Teddy’s tips on how to withstand the household, the videos also relate to being a teenager and dealing with friends, boys and school.

Older brother, easy-going PJ spends most of his time preoccupied with girls, and with the time he has left over, he usually practices with his band, “PJ and the Vibe,” or argues with Teddy about nearly everything.

Mischievous Gabe maneuvers the transition from being baby in the family to what he considers to be the overlooked rank of middle child. He also has an affinity for coming up with unique solutions to the precarious situations he finds himself getting into.

Each episode features Teddy’s video diary, one she creates for Charlie to use for advice after Teddy has grown up and moved out.

In the premiere episode, “Study Date,” Amy is fretting as she returns to work as a nurse, but Bob reassures her that they have a support system to care for Charlie. However Teddy’s distracted by a cute classmate, PJ is trying to have a jam session with his friend and Gabe is feeling as if their territory has been invaded. When Bob slips and falls on the stairs, Charlie is put in the sole care of Teddy and PJ drives his dad to the hospital, where they go to great lengths to avoid mom.

Jennifer Stone

I chatted with Jennifer for awhile about her movie, Wizards and how she got started in acting. She also had some great advice to share for those wanting to get started in the business.

On her character Harriet: Oh, wow, she is the polar opposite from Harper. I think she’s really cool. She’s very much her own person, just like Harper is but in a very different way. She writes a lot and she doesn’t really pay attention to what she wears. She’s pretty much a jeans and t-shirt girl. The only real thought she puts into it is she likes the color red and she incorporates that a lot into her daily wardrobe, but other than that, everything else is very easy.

She’s a very focused writer and focused on work and observing other people and really just making the best piece of writing that she can. She doesn’t have time to worry about fashion or things like that.

On how she got started in acting: Well, I always joke and say it was my brother’s fault. He got into theater back in Texas, so I was always the little sister that got dragged to rehearsals, so I was always there for hours on end and I would just pretend on stage. So, of course I was the tom boy sister who wanted to be just like my brother. I got into it and over the years my brother stopped and I didn’t. I kept going. Then, somehow I got it into my head to come to California and my mom was sweet enough to listen. I went through lots of auditions and lots of no’s before I got to any yes’s. And I am definitely not done with the no’s either!

On advice for anyone wanting to start an acting career: As I look back, I think I really cultivated my love for acting while doing theater. It’s so flexible and it’s so easy to join a theater. You can join your theater at school, your drama club, your local community theater and it’s just do much fun. If you go to a childrens’ theater, one that’s not at your highschool, you can meet a lot of new kids who have the same interests as you. You get to sing and dance and just be someone else. You don’t have to worry about all of the stuff happening in high school and it can just be a great escape from that. And you learn a lot of the essentials in theater. That’s where it all came from, it all started, so you might as well learn the basics of it.

I chatted with Alyson Stoner a couple of weeks ago for Disnology and one question I asked her was what advice she would give to kids wanting a career like hers. I thought her answer was one of the best I have heard.

Disnology: Alyson, what advice would you give to kids who want to have a career like yours? I asked Bridgit this same questions a few minutes ago.

Alyson: Well, first of all, I think they need to understand that everyone has a unique purpose. Don’t try to live out someone else’s dream because those aren’t the shoes you are supposed to walk in. Work with your family on what’s best for the time being and if acting is what you are supposed to do, then work on your craft every day.

And since Bridigit just joined the conversation….watching her work ethic and working with her on a movie before, you can see that she is really professional and that she works really hard at what she does and that definitely shines on camera.

Just keep at it and be patient. Wait for the perfect timing and remember that everything happens for a reason. Please don’t give up. The world doesn’t need people who give up, it needs people who push through  and that’s when you come out strongest.

She also talks about how acting is definitely not all about glamor.

Disnology: So, you are saying making a movie isn’t all glamor huh? Tank tops, 30 degree weather and blue lips does not sound like fun to me…or glamorous!

Alyson: On my gosh! Glamor is the farthest thing. It’s one of the most fascinating facts about the business. I mean, we try so hard to put on the facade of glamor, but it’s so far from it. We do put on this facade as actors and then when we get home, we just crash because we have to get up and do it all over again in the morning and at night time. We have those 16 to 18 hour days. Definitely not glamorous!

I had the chance to interview singer Savannah Outen the other day and talk about her song “Little Wonders”, which she covers for Disneymania 7, which comes out tomorrow March 9th. Savannah started out uploading songs she sang to YouTube just a few years ago and now she’s being featured on Radio Disney, performing at concerts and doing interviews like this one!

I asked Savannah about her journey, advice she would give to people wanting a successful singing career and more. Here are a few excerpts from the interview that I thought you all would benefit from.

Disnology: Your story is amazing. So, you just started posting videos of you singing and playing guitar on YouTube. What made you decide to start doing that?

Savannah: It was actually my parents’ idea. Nothing was really happening for me at the time. I was kind of desperate and decided to post a video to YouTube and then the fans started asking me to post more, so I did. Now, just as of yesterday, I hit over 51 million views. It has been pretty awesome and I am just so thankful for all of my fans on YouTube.

Disnology: Have you ever had professional training – singing, guitar or did it just come naturally?

Savannah: It came naturally. I just recently took a singing lesson just to see what it would be like. I wanted to try it out. It was fun and different. I think what I got most out of it was how to breathe when I am on stage so I don’t run out of breath. But, I’ve never taken a singing lesson other than that. I’ve always just listened to singers on CDs and study how they move their voice around, so I think that’s kind of how I learned to sing. It did just kind of come naturally for me.

I taught myself how to play guitar. My parents got me an electric guitar for me when I was 13, for my 13th Christmas and ever since I’ve been in love with playing the guitar. I went on the internet and learned how to place my fingers and just kind of taught myself that way.

Disnology: What advice would you give kids who want a successful singing career like yours?

Savannah: I would have to say, this is a really tough business. You need to have a very thick skin and a very supportive family and friends. If you have that support, I think you can do anything. And just to believe in yourself and never give up. I always try to tell kids that they should never give up and it’s so true because if I were to have given up a couple of years ago, I wouldn’t be where I am today. Just always believe in yourself and dream big.
