Alyson Stoner will be showing us her well-known dance moves again in the upcoming Disney Channel Original Movie Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam. How did Alyson get roles on hit Disney Channel shows and movies? Here’s how Alyson Stoner got started.
At the very young age of 3, Alyson attended dance classes at O’Connell Dance Studios in Toledo, OH. She trained in tap, jazz and ballet and at age 6 she went into modeling and began classes at the former Margaret O’Brien Modeling Studio in Toledo. This is where her talent of acting was noticed.
Alyson’s teacher, Mrs. O’Brien, took her to the International Modeling and Talent Association’s New York Convention, where she competed in talent competitions. Needless to say, Alyson did well and won many awards, including First Runner Up for Actress of the Year.
It was after that, that Alyson and her family headed to Los Angeles, CA for a visit and started interviewing agents and managers. During that time, she auditioned for just about everything she could – including print, TV, dance and more.
For her first hew years in L.A., Alyson trained with well-known choreographers such as horeographers Wade Robson, Fatima, Hi Hat, Dave Scott, Shane Sparks and Dante.
It wasn’t very long after she moved to Los Angeles that her career with Disney started. Ate age 8, she was cast as “Sally” for Disney Channel’s “Mike’s Super Short Show”. She also played “Max” on “The Suite Life of Zack & Cody” and filmed her own pilot for Disney entitled “Better Days”.
Alyson also had guest roles on “That’s So Raven” and Nickelodeon’s “Drake & Josh”.
You may know Alyson best for her role as Sarah Baker in the “Cheaper By the Dozen” movies and as “Caitlyn” in Disney Channel’s Camp Rock. Next up, we can see Alyson in Camp Rock 2 reprising her role as Caitlyn.
Through Alyson’s hard work, passion and determination she has developed one amazing career. I imagine we’ll be seeing a lot more of Alyson Stoner.
