Sterling Knight’s Next Movie: “Ella: A Modern Cinderella Tale”
February 16, 2010 by Julie · 5 Comments
It seems from our StarStruck poll that a lot of you thought Sterling Knight was pretty darn good in the Disney Channel Original Movie StarStruck. Well, Sterling has another movie (not Disney) coming out sometime in 2010 called “Ella: A Modern Cinderella Tale”. Here’s the trailer!
Plot: Elle wants to be a singer/songwriter, but her dreams are cut short by the sudden death of her parents. She moves in with her adoptive uncle, who runs a small independent record label whose biggest act, Sensation, is also Elle’s biggest pain. The pop music environment at the label, very different than the country roots she is used to, adds to Elle’s feelings of loss and frustration, and her misplaced guilt, which is caused by the fact that her parents had been en route to her performance at the time of her death. But when she meets Ty Parker, a famous pop singer with a passion for “real” music, her repressed ambition is released through a revitalized interest in singing and songwriting.
Do you think this sounds like a good movie and what do you think about Sterling’s character Ty Parker? Some are saying they would like to see him play something other than a superstar, but what about 17 Again? That was a completely different role for Sterling and I thought he played it really, really well.
If you could choose any role for Sterling Knight, what would it be? Sound off in the comments!

hi there! my name is ashley, i’m 16 years old, and i am an aspiring young actress. i was just wondering if the casting for this movie project is completed?
here’s a picture for ya!
Sterling Knight is awsome at playing a superstar, but it would also be cool to watch him act as a normal kid and maybe even a person who’s lonely and has no family! Also, there could be bullies who tease him. I don’t know but I would like to see how a director would put it together that way because almost every show or movie that I’ve seen that has Sterling Knight, he is some what famous. Not that it’s a bad thing!
I think Sterling proved himself a true actor when he played the role in 17 Again. His role was not of anyone famous or outstanding. He was an average son and he was incredible. His acting on Sonny with a Chance is Outstanding. He and Brandon saved the movie Starstruck. I can’t wait for more movies from this star. I think you could hand any role to him and he will make it his own….young Tom Hanks.

Sterling Knight would be perfect in the leading role of the upcoming movie, Outlander. Randall Wallace has the movie rights for the hugely popular story written by Diana Gabaldon.
The main male character, Jamie Fraser, is described by the author as having triangular slanted blue eyes, a long straight nose and a mouth that is almost too big, with a heart stopping smile. Jamie is a redhead, but I am sure Hollywood can remedy that. And tall. Not sure how tall Sterling is, but I know Hollywood can deal with that too. Not sure if he wants to try for a movie involving 18th century sex, intrigue and violence, but it’s going to be a hugely popular movie, and I think Sterling’s agent should contact Randall Wallace (of Braveheart fame) about doing an audition for the role of Jamie.
