Zac Efron is separating himself farther and farther from his High School Musical role every day. He’s turned down roles such as Footloose, so he wouldn’t be known as only the song and dance man and from the news that came out today, we could be seeing him in a franchise soon
It was announced that Zac and Warner Brothers have made a 2 year deal to buy pitches, spec scripts, and books for Zac and his still unformed company to develop as star vehicles.
According to Deadline, “Warner Bros is determined to find him a franchise. Which begs the question whther he’ll be the next DC Entertainment superhero, or Bourne-like action thriller leading man, or buddy comedy co-star, or all, or none.”
Zac should begin filming on a Back to the Future-like film soon and now with this deal, who knows what we could see him in after that. Mr. Efron is either one very smart business man, or he has some good people around him who are helping shape his career. He is living proof that you can start out with Disney, but you don’t always have to stay there.
