Acting Tips
Have You Got What It Takes to Shine at a Hannah Montana Casting Call?

In case you hadn’t noticed, acting is a very big industry. There are actors and actresses everywhere you look…from Broadway to big screen movies, from TV shows to TV movies, and even mimes you might see on the street are actors. Many of them (maybe not the mimes) would love to have their shot at a Hannah Montana casting call.
But don’t let that allow you to think that acting is easy just because there are lots of actors. In fact, like playing music, it is pretty tough to truly master.
To be a truly great actor and “wow” them at Disney acting auditions, you have to be able to get inside a character and literally become that person for some period of time – to convince your audience, and even yourself, that the character is who you really are. You’ve got to be able to let go of yourself and turn into someone else for a little while. If it looks to the audience like you are “playing a part”, then you won’t succeed. It has to become a part of you.
You’ll be working with a few written words, a costume, a set, and your imagination. Turning that into a believable performance is hard work, and success at it only comes to those who embrace it as their passion in life. Is it really your passion to make it to a Hannah Montana casting call?
You have to be able to cover a wide range of skills to be a great actor. You need to have a mastery of your body for different types of movement, such as fighting, dancing, or even physical comedy. Also, your voice must be clear enough to be understood from a distance, even if you are required to speak with an unfamiliar accent.
The most difficult aspect by far, though, is the emotional one. As a great actor, you must be able to take on different emotions at will – crying on demand, or becoming instantly happy or excited. Any of us can try to fake those emotions, but being an exceptional actor means that there is no faking involved; you truly feel the emotions that you are showing. That is what they are looking for at Disney acting auditions and Hannah Montana casting opportunities.
One of the most well-know ways of portraying realistic emotions is Stanislavski’s theory of method acting. Take a little while and study what method acting is all about, and then begin to practice it. Basically, the idea is that when you are acting, you think of a time when you felt the emotion that you are trying to show.
For example, if your character is sad over the death of their mother, you might think of the time when you were small and your dog died, and start crying as you feel that emotion right in your gut. (Remember when Miley had her favorite stuffed bear torn apart by Jackson? Same type of thing.)
There’s obviously more to it than that, but that’s the basic idea, and it can give a very convincing performance when done well. That’s what most of the great actors of our time have used to take them to unbelievable heights, and what has gotten most Disney Channel stars their first big role when they nailed this at a Disney acting audition.
Getting your shot at a Hannah Montana casting call or any Disney acting auditions means that you will have to work hard and study what it means to be a great actor or actress. Again, you have to ask yourself, “Is this really my passion, and am I willing to do whatever it takes to get there?” If you can honestly say “yes!”, then get to work. There’s nothing holding you back.

I am really glad you touched on the emotional aspect of this. I believe parents may often overlook this.

Hello
I have been a fan of the Disney Channel ever since I was a little girl. It was upsetting to me that I didn’t see many Asian actors or actresses on Disney Channel. I still loved the shows but it would be great if they could put some more Asian people on Disney Channel to broaden the ranges of ethnicity. I am Asian and trying to aspire a career in acting and it would be great if you can update me on any roles that are coming up! I know I am able to become any character and let myself run with it. THANKs for your Time!=)

Hi. My name is Wynne Milhouse and I really really really want to be an actress! I think that I can do it. I really want to be in one of the Percy Jackson movies, but I don’t know where the auditions are for them. In fact, I don’t know where auditions are for anything! I live in the mid-west, around kentucky, Illinois, Indiana and Michigan, so I don’t think that there are very many, if any, auditions around there. My parents wouldn’t drive me all the way to New York or California for an audition either. If any body knows about any auditions close to me, please tell me!!!! Or, if your an agent please contact me!!
